Obama Thanksgiving Proclamation Evades God

President Obama’s brief proclamation of Thanksgiving Day on November 26 was unique among all recorded Thanksgiving proclamations by his predecessors: it is the first one that fails to directly acknowledge the existence of God.

The beneficence shown by God to America is a theme that traditionally defines the Thanksgiving holiday, and this theme is strongly emphasized in the original Thanksgiving Day proclamations and consistently acknowledged even by modern presidents.

Obama’s unprecedented proclamation, however, only makes indirect mention of God by quoting George Washington, stating: “Today, we recall President George Washington, who proclaimed our first national day of public thanksgiving to be observed ‘by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God.’”

The proclamation goes on to call Thanksgiving Day “a unique national tradition we all share” that unites people as “thankful for our common blessings.”

“This is a time for us to renew our bonds with one another, and we can fulfill that commitment by serving our communities and our Nation throughout the year,” it continues.

All other presidential Thanksgiving proclamations directly refer to “God,” “Providence,” or another appellation for the divine being.

World Government because of alleged Climate Change? . . . MY ROMPUY!

In the wake of a wealth of leaked documents and emails from the Climate Research Unit of the University of East Anglia in Great Britain that demonstrate a conspiracy of fraud and racketeering in order to foist a massive hoax upon the world, Obama is nevertheless about to engage in an act of high treason by delivering our country in December to the Globalists via the Copenhagen “Climate Treaty” in December.

The following is the offending language within the “Climate Treaty” draft that sabotages our nation’s Constitution, and surreptitiously obliterates the autonomous free market by potentially burdening commercial enterprise as well as private citizens with “carbon” taxes to be owed to the new “Conference of the Parties” (COP) of the United Nations. Will Obama acknowledge the leaked emails before Copenhagen? Not if he wants to be able to claim ‘plausible deniability’, he won’t.

Call the Senators of the entire Senate and tell them, “This shall not pass!!”:

“38. The scheme for the new institutional arrangement under the Convention will be based on three basic pillars: government; facilitative mechanism; and financial mechanism, and the basic organization of which will include the following:

(a) The government will be ruled by the COP with the support of a new subsidiary body on adaptation, and of an Executive Board responsible for the management of the new funds and the related facilitative processes and bodies. The current Convention secretariat will operate as such, as appropriate.

(b) The Convention’s financial mechanism will include a multilateral climate change fund including five windows: (a) an Adaptation window, (b) a Compensation window, to address loss and damage from climate change impacts, including insurance, rehabilitation and compensatory components, (c) a Technology window; (d) a Mitigation window; and (e) a REDD window, to support a multi-phases process for positive forest incentives relating to REDD actions.

(c) The Convention’s facilitative mechanism will include: (a) work programmes for adaptation and mitigation; (b) a long-term REDD process; (c) a short-term technology action plan; (d) an expert group on adaptation established by the subsidiary body on adaptation, and expert groups on mitigation, technologies and on monitoring, reporting and verification; and (e) an international registry for the monitoring, reporting and verification of compliance of emission reduction commitments, and the transfer of technical and financial resources from developed countries to developing countries. The secretariat will provide technical and administrative support, including a new centre for information exchange.”

the president and his pie

President Obama’s Thanksgiving dinner featured 6 different kinds of pie. I’m so jealous. I really like pie. The Obamas’ menu: Banana cream pie, pumpkin pie, apple pie, sweet potato pie, huckleberry pie, cherry pie. Oh, yeah, and they had turkey, stuffing and some other stuff, too. I’m just going to let you sit with that for a while and salivate.

I can't even be mad that it's a vegetable...it's too good.

Michelle spent today welcoming an 18 1/2 foot Douglas fir tree to be decorated for the season’s revolving door of holiday parties, while Mr. President himself made a turkey sandwich and sat down to work on his upcoming speech regarding his Afghanistan policy. He probably also had some more pie. And thought about the state dinner crashers, presumably with a little chuckle. Pie does that to people. It makes you happier.

What does this have to with public relations you might ask? Truthfully, very little. I just really love pie and thought that it was awesome that the leader of the free world agrees with me. But let’s see if I can make this connect, if for no other reason than this is my last post for my class grade. Hmm….

Our country has a curious fascination with the goings on in the White House, what the President and his family do, and the traditions that are part and parcel of his position. We wait each Thanksgiving season to see our nation’s top elected official pardon a turkey. Yep, a turkey. We also can’t wait for details like the White House menus for important holiday and state dinners to be released. “Turkey and ham? Gee, maybe we should do that next year, honey.” Communicators can use this to their benefit, especially during the holiday season.

Here’s how: consumers don’t want to hear about serious issues in sombre tones, they want to hear fluff that lifts their spirits and incites holiday cheer. For nonprofits, especially, this can be hard. When the holidays are the season when need is highest, how do you get the average American to reach into their wallet and give up on a Black Friday deal in order to donate to your worthy cause? Well, you certainly don’t reach them with begging and pleas. You reach them by telling them what Obama’s favorite kind of pie is at the Thanksgiving table. Well, not literally, but as communicators we have to start thinking beyond the “we need – you give” mentality during the holidays. We have to find how to help our consumers “keep up with the Joneses,” or more appropriately the Obamas. If you can tell me how I can get the satisfaction of 6 pies on my Thanksgiving table by donating to your nonprofit, or make giving a family holiday tradition to rival Black Friday – I’m in.

Sure, that sounds easy. Ha. Here I go, off to change American holiday thinking! That, and eat some pie.

“Slowly, VERY SLOWLY at least some of the Global Warming Hysterics are BEGINNING to understand the scope of Climate Gate. But of course they still vehemently denies that this changes anything. One example below from The Guardian, one of the High Priests of this hysteria.”

Well, my respect for George Monbiot is growing. I don’t agree one iota with him or his “science”. And his role as a high priest in this religion.

But he’s honest when it comes to the consequences of Climate Gate. Even calling for the resignation of Jones. And demandig and end to secrecy.

That has my respect, regardless of everything else.

But of course he has to revert to the old tune of “skeptics” being bought by the oil industry, calling all of us liars etc.

And if there where manipulations, lies etc these emails show very clearly from which side it come.

Here in Sweden the so called “science editors” of the “news” papers DN and SVD (BOTH big promoters of the Global Warming Hysteria), aptly fit Monboits description “Confronted with crisis, most of the environmentalists I know have gone into denial.”

I feel desperately sorry for him: he must be walking through hell. But there is no helping it; he has to go, and the longer he leaves it, the worse it will get. He has a few days left in which to make an honourable exit. Otherwise, like the former Speaker of the House of Commons, Michael Martin, he will linger on until his remaining credibility vanishes, inflicting continuing damage to climate science.”

“But the deniers’ campaign of lies, grotesque as it is, does not justify secrecy and suppression on the part of climate scientists. Far from it: it means that they must distinguish themselves from their opponents in every way. No one has been as badly let down by the revelations in these emails as those of us who have championed the science. We should be the first to demand that it is unimpeachable, not the last.”

Pretending the climate email leak isn’t a crisis won’t make it go away.

Climate sceptics have lied, obscured and cheated for years. That’s why we climate rationalists must uphold the highest standards of science

I have seldom felt so alone. Confronted with crisis, most of the environmentalists I know have gone into denial. The emails hacked from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia, they say, are a storm in a tea cup, no big deal, exaggerated out of all recognition. It is true that climate change deniers have made wild claims which the material can’t possibly support (the end of global warming, the death of climate science). But it is also true that the emails are very damaging.

The response of the greens and most of the scientists I know is profoundly ironic, as we spend so much of our time confronting other people’s denial. Pretending that this isn’t a real crisis isn’t going to make it go away. Nor is an attempt to justify the emails with technicalities. We’ll be able to get past this only by grasping reality, apologising where appropriate and demonstrating that it cannot happen again.

It is true that much of what has been revealed could be explained as the usual cut and thrust of the peer review process, exacerbated by the extraordinary pressure the scientists were facing from a denial industry determined to crush them. One of the most damaging emails was sent by the head of the climatic research unit, Phil Jones. He wrote “I can’t see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report. Kevin and I will keep them out somehow – even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!”

One of these papers which was published in the journal Climate Research turned out to be so badly flawed that the scandal resulted in the resignation of the editor-in-chief. Jones knew that any incorrect papers by sceptical scientists would be picked up and amplified by climate change deniers funded by the fossil fuel industry, who often – as I documented in my book Heat – use all sorts of dirty tricks to advance their cause.

Even so, his message looks awful. It gives the impression of confirming a potent meme circulated by those who campaign against taking action on climate change: that the IPCC process is biased. However good the detailed explanations may be, most people aren’t going to follow or understand them. Jones’s statement, on the other hand, is stark and easy to grasp.

In this case you could argue that technically he has done nothing wrong. But a fat lot of good that will do. Think of the MPs’ expenses scandal: complaints about stolen data, denials and huffy responses achieved nothing at all. Most of the MPs could demonstrate that technically they were innocent: their expenses had been approved by the Commons office. It didn’t change public perceptions one jot. The only responses that have helped to restore public trust in Parliament are humility, openness and promises of reform.

Some people say that I am romanticising science, that it is never as open and honest as the Popperian ideal. Perhaps. But I know that opaqueness and secrecy are the enemies of science. There is a word for the apparent repeated attempts to prevent disclosure revealed in these emails: unscientific.

The crisis has been exacerbated by the university’s handling of it, which has been a total trainwreck: a textbook example of how not to respond. RealClimate reports that “We were made aware of the existence of this archive last Tuesday morning when the hackers attempted to upload it to RealClimate, and we notified CRU of their possible security breach later that day.” In other words, the university knew what was coming three days before the story broke. As far as I can tell, it sat like a rabbit in the headlights, waiting for disaster to strike.

When the emails hit the news on Friday morning, the university appeared completely unprepared. There was no statement, no position, no one to interview. Reporters kept being fobbed off while CRU’s opponents landed blow upon blow on it. When a journalist I know finally managed to track down Phil Jones, he snapped “no comment” and put down the phone. This response is generally taken by the media to mean “guilty as charged”. When I got hold of him on Saturday, his answer was to send me a pdf called “WMO statement on the status of the global climate in 1999″. Had I a couple of hours to spare I might have been able to work out what the heck this had to do with the current crisis, but he offered no explanation.

By then he should have been touring the TV studios for the past 36 hours, confronting his critics, making his case and apologising for his mistakes. Instead, he had disappeared off the face of the Earth. Now, far too late, he has given an interview to the Press Association, which has done nothing to change the story.

The handling of this crisis suggests that nothing has been learnt by climate scientists in this country from 20 years of assaults on their discipline. They appear to have no idea what they’re up against or how to confront it. Their opponents might be scumbags, but their media strategy is exemplary.

The greatest tragedy here is that despite many years of outright fabrication, fraud and deceit on the part of the climate change denial industry, documented in James Hoggan and Richard Littlemore’s brilliant new book Climate Cover-up, it is now the climate scientists who look bad. By comparison to his opponents, Phil Jones is pure as the driven snow. Hoggan and Littlemore have shown how fossil fuel industries have employed “experts” to lie, cheat and manipulate on their behalf. The revelations in their book (as well as in Heat and in Ross Gelbspan’s book The Heat Is On) are 100 times graver than anything contained in these emails.

Statement by the President on Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha

Michelle and I would like to send our best wishes to all those performing Hajj this year, and to Muslims in America and around the world who are celebrating Eid-ul-Adha.  The rituals of Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha both serve as reminders of the shared Abrahamic roots of three of the world’s major religions.

During Hajj, the world’s largest and most diverse gathering, three million Muslims from all walks of life – including thousands of American Muslims – will stand in prayer on Mount Arafat.  The following day, Muslims around the world will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha and distribute food to the less fortunate to commemorate Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son out of obedience to God.

This year, I am pleased that the Department of Health and Human Services has partnered with the Saudi Health Ministry to prevent and limit the spread of H1N1 during Hajj.  Cooperating on combating H1N1 is one of the ways we are implementing my administration’s commitment to partnership in areas of mutual interest.

On behalf of the American people, we would like to extend our greetings during this Hajj season – Eid Mubarak.

Of course, Michelle could never go to hajj, unless she is a “Christian” like Obama’s grandma. And from the sources we checked, Eid al Adha isn’t until after Thanksgiving, but hey this president has priorities.

Last year’s message, heard by attendee Minnesota’s Muslim congressman Keith Ellison, urged Muslims to reject capitalism in favor of sharia:

Saudi Arabia’s top cleric has used his annual sermon to Muslim pilgrims assembling for hajj to urge Muslim countries to renounce capitalism and form an Islamic economic bloc that adopts interest-free finance.

Ellison (D-MN), who stated he forgot he was American while becoming a haji, shared a similar message via Twitter months later, where he recommend an anti-capitalism movie in two separate messages, indicating he had already seen the film twice.

Ayatullah Khamenei also gave a message to the Hajj pilgrims which we reported in a December 15, 2008 post:

…the defeat of warmongers in America in the political and economic arenas and Muslim minorities’ regaining their true identity and dignity in most of the Western countries. These are all clear indications of the triumph and advancements of Islam in its struggle against its enemies in this century that is the 15th century of Lunar Hegira.

Brothers and sisters! These victories are all the fruits of jihad and sincerity…The wounded enemy is now resorting to anything and will spare no effort to strike back. We need to be resourceful, wise and to take advantage of opportunities. This way all the efforts of the enemy will fail. In the last thirty years, the enemies, mostly the US and Zionism, have been utilizing all their capacities but have failed miserably. The same thing will happen in the future, too, inshallah.

But yeah, happy hajj to the millions of anti-American, anti-capitalism Muslims who believe America is the enemy.

The Obama Administration or the ACLU or Khalid Sheik Mohammed?

Fenstermaker also expressed the hope that his client would be set free following their acquittal. It’s getting tough to tell who hates America more, KSM or his legal team; Al Qaeda or the ACLU attorneys who want to help them. Three months ago, KSM and his co-conspirators were willing to plead guilty and die as martyrs for their cause. But Obama and Holder couldn’t let that happen; not when there was a chance to give oppressed third-worlders a forum for airing their grievances against the USA.

Why can’t it be all three?

Obama's decision on Afghanistan to come next Tuesday

… but what will it be?

A poll done by CBS News stated only 38 percent of Americans support how President Obama’s is handling the Afghanistan war.

He’s stated many times that he wants to take the time in order be sure the right decisions are made in the right way.

Tonight, NPR has confirmed that Obama will give a speech entailing his decisions next Tuesday.

We can assume that Obama’s plan will not include the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. This is not something that should shock anyone. While we don’t know how large the surge will be, we can be certain that there will be one. The Pentagon’s already preparing for this by creating new bases in Afghanistan and revamping the ones already there.

Tom Engelhardt noted these items in a piece he wrote. The article was featured on CBS today and Engelhardt wrote his own version of the speech Obama should give.

Engelhardt’s speech ultimately states that Obama will not send troops to Afghanistan. He believes that Obama clarify that he has brought troops back from Iraq and will do so in Afghanistan.
While this situation is ideal, it is unlikely. Engelhardt has seven points that he believes are the reason that Obama should pull out troops in Afghanistan. They have been shortened and listed below, the full list can be found in his article.

“1. We have no partner in Afghanistan…
2. Afghanistan floats in a culture of corruption…
3. Despite billions of dollars of American money poured into training the Afghan security forces, the army is notoriously understrength and largely ineffective; the police forces are riddled with corruption and held in contempt by most of the populace…
4. The Taliban insurgency is spreading and gaining support largely because the Karzai regime has been so thoroughly discredited, the Afghan police and courts are so ineffective and corrupt, and reconstruction funds so badly misspent…
5. Al-Qaeda is no longer a significant factor in Afghanistan…
6. Our war in Afghanistan has become the military equivalent of a massive bail-out of a firm determined to fail…
7. Our all-volunteer military has for years now shouldered the burden of our two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. “

Engelhardt makes seven valid points. However, we still have another week of finger tapping and hypothesizing before we find out Obama’s decision.

Par ailleurs, les personnes qui achètent assurances subventionnées, pourrait acheter une couverture séparée, avec leur propre argent, pour les avortements.

Les États-Unis Conférence des évêques catholiques du Canada a dit qu’il serait soutenir les lois sur les soins de santé si elle comprenait l’avortement plus stricte restrictions.

“La réussite de cet amendement permet à la Chambre pour répondre à nos critères de préserver les protections existantes contre le financement de l’avortement dans les nouveaux législation “, la conférence des évêques a écrit dans une lettre (fichier joint) aux membres du Congrès. «Plus important encore, il fera en sorte qu’aucune fonds publics seront utilisés pour l’avortement ou les plans de santé qui comprennent l’avortement “.

I was told recently that the Netherlands could actually be used as a model for healthcare in this country. Obama suggested the Netherlands as a model for the U.S. to emulate a few months ago in Colorado. People who knew something of the true state of healthcare and bioethics (or lack thereof) in that country were appalled. Want to know why? Gallop Confirms Obama Approval at <50%

MAJOR ISSUE IS POOR ECONOMIC MANAGEMENT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama’s job approval rating has dropped below 50 percent in a second major poll in an indication he is suffering from the long healthcare debate and weakness in the economy, Gallup said on Friday.

Gallup said 49 percent of Americans approved of Obama’s job performance. A survey by Quinnipiac University on Wednesday had a similar finding, putting him at 48 percent support.

It was the first time he had fallen below majority support in those two polls. He had been polling in the low 50s for months after taking office in January with an approval rating just under 70 percent.

Gallup said Obama’s drop in its daily tracking poll likely resulted from the contentious debate over healthcare as well as the poor state of the U.S. economy, with millions of Americans out of work.

“Americans are also concerned about the Obama administration’s reliance on government spending to solve the nation’s problems and the growing federal budget deficit,” Gallup said in an analysis of its poll, which surveyed 1,533 people from Tuesday to Thursday. The margin of error was 4 points.

Democrat Obama became the fourth-fastest U.S. president since World War Two to drop below majority support in the Gallup poll, following Republican Gerald Ford, Democrat Bill Clinton and Republican Ronald Reagan.

Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, said that although Obama’s job approval was below 50 percent for the first time nationally, it was not statistically different from his 50 percent approval rating in October.

Wall Street bankers once again are the target of populist outrage, this time over the news that Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, and others are receiving limited doses of the H1N1 swine flu vaccine.

Following a story on BusinessWeek.com, and its subsequent pickup on NBC’s Today Show and other media outlets, politicians, lobbyists, and bloggers launched blistering attacks against New York City health officials, the White House, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), and, of course, the “fat cat bankers” themselves.

Other big New York City employers that have received doses of the vaccine include Columbia University, Time Inc., and the Federal Reserve Bank.

Citizens for Responsibility & Ethics in Washington, a D.C.-based watchdog, is asking Obama’s Health & Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to investigate why the CDC approved the distribution of the H1N1 vaccine to Wall Street firms. “In what world do Wall Street employees deserve to be vaccinated ahead of high-risk children, pregnant women, and health-care workers?” said executive director Melanie Sloan in a statement on Nov. 5. “Unfortunately, for the thousands being turned away in clinics across America, the CDC has decided to prioritize the millionaires over the masses.“

Representative Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) also criticized the Obama Administration’s distribution approach. “While many Missourians are still at risk, Wall Street bankers are at the head of the line for H1N1 vaccine,” said Blunt

An unidentified Alberta health care worker who allowed the Calgary Flames hockey team and players’ families to privately receive H1N1 vaccinations last week has been fired, Alberta Health Services announced this afternoon.

“The decision to allow preferential access to the Flames and their families was a serious error in judgment on the part of the staff involved,” Stephen Duckett, who is president and chief executive officer of the board that governs health delivery in the province, said in a statement.

Has Obama pushed enough on the Tibet issue?

As a British Citizen I was disappointed to read of the Foreign Secretary’s Ministerial Statement issued on 29th October 2008 that recognised Tibet as part of the People’s Republic of China.  This has practically made impossible any negotiations with China on the Autonomy of Tibet as any incentive for the Chinese Government to do so has seemingly vanished.

So, it is with equal disappointment that I watch, read and listen as President Obama, on his recent trans-Pacific trip delivers a very unenthusiastic comment on issues regarding Human Rights in China, let alone Tibet, which appear to be conspicuous by their absence from the core of the summit’s agenda:

“The major challenges of the 21st Century from climate change to nuclear proliferation to economic recovery are challenges that touch both our nations, and challenges that neither of our nations can solve by acting alone,” says Obama.

“We will continue to act in a spirit of equality, mutual respect and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs,” said Mr Hu

Obama did say that China should resume talks with representatives of Tibet’s exiled leader the Dalai Lama to resolve their differences but Hu’s insistence that the Dalai Lama is trying to split Tibet from the rest of the country doesn’t sound particularly inspiring. 

Hu also said that previous talks had achieved nothing which indeed is correct given that the Chinese Government flatly rejected the Tibetan Government in Exile’s Memorandum on Genuine Autonomy for the Tibetan People“

The Dalai Lama, on a recent visit to Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, India, the region to which he escaped from occupied Tibet in 1959 said “It’s quite usual for China to step up campaign against me wherever I go. It’s totally baseless on the part of Chinese Communist government to say that I am encouraging a separatist movement.”  This was in response to Beijing’s criticism of his visit to that area, again another one that China lays claims on.

The Obama administration has in its first 10 months in office expressed a desire to see meaningful results in Sino-Tibetan dialogue and also sent his Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett and Under Secretary of State and Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues Maria Otero to Dharamsala, India, to meet with the Dalai Lama.

The Dalai Lama’s Special Envoy, Lodi Gyari has subsequently stated that the Dalai Lama “would value an opportunity to hear directly from the President [Obama] about what transpired during the Beijing summit with regard to Tibet.”   A post-US-China summit meeting between Obama and the Dalai Lama is set to take place sometime in November.

Hu did, admittedly, bring up the human rights issue first saying that China and the US would hold talks on human rights and religious freedom issues; whether this refers to Tibet is yet to be seen.

Obama’s visit to China and his rather dry and brief reference to human rights issues could be seen as pandering to China’s rising status in the world.  But it could also been seen as a tentative and excessively diplomatic step towards nurturing future relations between the two countries, relations that may well be the key to resolving the Tibet issue.   As necessary and important as the climate, economic and nuclear issues of the day are, let’s hope that the Obama administration doesn’t lose sight of an issue that almost epitomises all that is not quite right with our world.

When Obama won the Presidency with the help of the LEFTIST Media, Hollywood and Entertainment Liberals, Ethnic Socialists (ACORN), Stupid Non-Business Professionals and Bush Haters, I wrote:

It won’t take 6 months until the people figure this guy out and realize how horrible a mistake they’ve made. And when they come to that realization, the damage to the United States of America will be so great, that it will take a generation or more to repair – IF EVER.

The IDIOTS who not only voted for the Messiah, but also worked their sorry asses-off to promote his Lordship, are now left holding the bag.

Here are two things they will NEVER do:

1 – They will NEVER admit to making a blunder out of all proportion by electing a snake-oil salesman with no positive social history or management experience of any kind.

2 – They will NEVER take responsibility for the curse they’ve imposed upon the immediate and long-term future of their country.

In essence, the people responsible for putting this horror-show in power are in themselves responsible for every cataclysmic decision he makes and the consequences thereof.  (Also, those who stayed home and did not vote as a real citizen must gave Obama his slim margin of victory.)

In just 6 (SIX) months, the Messiah’s polls are showing the following:

On Healthcare Reform – He’s going under for the third time with polling well under 50%, even within his own Party.

Even though he might be able to muscle a Healthcare Reform Bill by using Chicago BULLY tactics against his fellow Democrats, it will just make things worse.

On Cap And Trade (Cap & Tax) – The Fat-Lady is already singing.

On the Stimulus Package (Tax and Spend) – His popularity is in FREE-FALL.

On the TARP package he took and ran with from President Bush – It’s all but Good-Night Irene.

On the closing of GITMO and “HIS” war on what he no longer wants called the War On Terrorism – He’s standing in quicksand with his head just about to go under.

On a comparison between himself and George W. Bush at the same 6 months into their respective first term Presidencies – Bush is ahead of him in the Polls.

On a comparison between He Who Walks On Water and the 12 preceding Presidents between WW II and now – Obama ranks 10th.

On a Poll just conducted, that asks who would you vote for today between Obama and Mitt Romney – It’s a dead heat.

Between Obama and Palin – Obama’s ONLY ahead by 8 points and she hasn’t even begun to campaign.

It seems to me that Obama wants to be everywhere where he shouldn’t be.

He’s personally invested in screwing-over America’s ONLY REAL Middle Eastern ally (Israel) in favor of Palestinian Despots and Murderers.

He’s traveling the world apologizing for the USA while lecturing others on how to do it right, when in fact and truth, he has no experience at doing anything other than getting elected.

He went to the Moslem world in Egypt to declare that America IS NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION while he heaped praises on Islam, where he compared the “plight” of the Palestinians to the Holocaust.

The Russians think he’s a Putz. The French think he’s rude. The Germans want him to stop spending. The Indians want him to mix his nose out of their environmental business. The North Koreans think he’s a joke. The Iranians won’t acknowledge his calls. And the British can’t even come up with a comprehensive opinion of him.  (None of these views have changed or improved in the 4 months since this article was written.)

As for the Chinese, he’s too frightened to even glance their way.  (At the time of this writing, Obama is over in China cuddling up to the Chinese, doing everything he can to show subservience to them.  He is bargaining from a position of weakness, and the rest of the world knows it.)

Maybe, if America’s first Emperor would stay home more and travel less, and work a little bit instead of being on television just about everyday, or forget about his Wednesday Date Nights with his Amazon Wife, or stop running to “papered” Town Hall Meetings, perhaps he would have a little bit of time to do the work of the nation.  (Sadly, if he were to take Mr. Galganov’s advice he would have more time and energy to devote to actively destroying the America he hates in order to build his totalitarian utopia.  Catch-22.)

In all fairness, it wasn’t HARD to be RIGHT in my prediction concerning Obama’s Presidency, even in its first 6 months, so I’m going to make yet another prediction:

OBAMA WILL PROBABLY NOT FINISH HIS 4-YEAR TERM, at least not in a conventional way.  (We can only hope for change, and pray that it happens soon.)

He is such a political HORROR-SHOW, and so detrimental to the USA and his own Democratic Party, that the Democrats themselves will either FORCE him to resign or figure out a way to have him thrown out.  (Again, we can only hope.)

Who knows, maybe he really isn’t a BORN US Citizen and that’s a way the Democrats will be able to get rid of him.  (They don’t have the guts for that approach.)

Or – MORE LIKELY THAN NOT, the Democrats will make Obama THEIR OWN LAME DUCK PRESIDENT.

I don’t believe the Democrats have nearly as much love for their country as they do for their own political fortunes. And with Obama, their fortunes are rapidly becoming toast.

The Democrats can keep on blaming Bush for EVERYTHING. But, that game’s already begun to wear real thin.

Their mantra was “WE DON’T WANT 4 MORE YEARS”, which the STUPID people bought, since McCain was nothing at all like George W Bush.

The new mantra will soon become: WE DON’T WANT 6 MORE MONTHS.  (Or 6 more days, or 6 more hours, or 6 more minutes, or…)

President Not Sure About...Much of Anything Lately

Rasmussen reported Wednesday:

Sixty percent (60%) of likely voters nationwide say last week’s shootings at Fort Hood should be investigated by military authorities as a terrorist act.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 27% want the incident investigated by civilian authorities as a criminal act. Another 13% are not sure.

Those following the story Very Closely are even more likely to want the shooting investigated as an act of terrorism.

Sixty-five percent (65%) of all voters say Major Nidal Malik Hasan should receive the death penalty if convicted. Nineteen percent (19%) disagree, and 16% aren’t sure.

Idiocracy's President Not Sure ultimately realized that if he wasn't going to lead or follow, he should at least get out of the way.

Still occupied with being not sure whether to send support to our troops in Afghanistan, Obama responded to the Fort Hood tragedy by joining ranks with the “not sure” camp—going one better, in fact, by asking Congress to put off its investigation.  The AP reports:

Lawmakers, however, already have announced they want their own investigations and were frustrated with what they view as a less-than-forthcoming administration.

Obama said he was not opposed to hearings — eventually. But he strongly pressed lawmakers to hold off until the probes now under way are completed.

“There is an ongoing investigation into this terrible tragedy,” Obama said. “That investigation will look at the motives of the alleged gunman, including his views and contacts.”

“We must compile every piece of information that was known about the gunman, and we must learn what was done with that information. Once we have those facts, we must act upon them.”

TERRORIST RIGHTS

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, in reacting to the pathetic and irresponsible decision taken by the Obama administration to bring Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other terrorists to civilian court, reminded us all, in an interview with Neil Cavuto of Fox News, what the 9/11 attacks really were:

This was an act of war. One of things I thought we learned from September 11th is that we were in a state of denial before September 11th. We went through this once before in 1993. We had terrorists attack the World Trade Center. We did not recognize it as an act of war. We tried them in the Southern District in New York. It did no good.

President Barack Obama is following through on his promise to undo everything Bush by gradually emptying out the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

What better way to do it than to yank terrorists from the security of Gitmo and send them to an American city to face a jury not comprised of their peers? And what better place to bestow rights onto those who don’t deserve them than in New York City?

As disgusting as this is – and, I assure you, it doesn’t get more reprehensible than conferring Constitutional rights on terrorists – it should come as no surprise to anyone.

52.7% of your fellow countrymen voted for this.

While he was still a candidate, then-Senator Barack Obama was talking constitutionality – which in itself was (and still is) enough to send the short hairs on the back of my neck to attention. He launched an attack against then-Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her position on the so-called rights of terrorist suspects, referencing Palin’s comments in her acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention last summer.

She said (referring to then-Senator Obama):

Terrorist states are seeking new-clear weapons without delay … he wants to meet them without preconditions. Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America … he’s worried that someone won’t read them their rights?

Obama’s response:

First of all, you don’t even get to read them their rights until you catch ‘em. They (the Republicans) should spend more time trying to catch Osama bin Laden and we can worry about the next steps later. My position has always been clear: If you’ve got a terrorist, take him out. Anybody who was involved in 9/11, take ‘em out.”

Obama saw himself as defending the Constitution (in some sick, twisted way) as he went after Governor Palin, supporting the issuance of rights to terrorist suspects because, as he put is, “we don’t always have the right person.”

If this wasn’t the atomic alarm of all alarms, then nothing ever could have been.

How was Obama able to reach the conclusion that Osama bin Ladin was a terrorist without affording him access to the legal protections outlined in the Constitution? What criteria was he using to make that determination? How could Obama want to “take out” bin Ladin without granting him his Constitutional rights?

And if I am being obtuse here, then allow to me ask the question the other way. Wasn’t Sadam Hussein a terrorist? Or, at the very least, the leader of a state that sponsored terrorists? Didn’t we “take him out?”

Of course, it would have been interesting for someone at the time to point out that Obama supported the Washington, D.C. handgun ban, which is unconstitutional.

Kettle meet pot.

And now, more than a year later, the circus of all circuses – one that will needlessly cost the American taxpayer tens of millions of dollars – will begin only blocks from where the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center stood. The Attorney General, Eric Holder, will seek the death penalty against the five men who have already said – repeatedly -  they want to die.

At least they’re on the same page.

And just think of all the nasty little intelligence secrets that will come to light in civilian court during the proceedings – just as Obamacrats wish.

If undoing the malignancies of the Bush era means putting American lives in danger, so be it.

It isn’t Obama’s fault he inherited such a mess.

Excuse me, You can't say that.

I think I would be right to say that there are things that you can NOT say in church. When I write that sentence certain words come to mind. You know the words that you can’t say in church; words like Barack Obama, sex, and homosexuals.

Now this is just me being honest here: Do we limit what God wants to say about subjects like these because we are afraid we might “rock the boat” or “offend the heavy givers.”

If ever I get the chance to talk about any of these subjects in a church setting, I pray that I address the issue with confidence and with grace. I believe God wants to talk about the things we don’t want to talk about. The question is are we going to open out mouths as pastors and leaders of the church?

Freedom for Women—Veiled in a Burkha or Revealed in a Bikini?

This week French President Sarkozy called for a ban to be placed on Muslim women who choose to express their faith by observing hijab and donning a burkha.  The French have been the most vocal and active in the arena of attacking religious freedom.  In 2004 they outlawed the use of headscarves, Sikh turbans, large Christian crosses and Jewish skullcaps in their state schools.  The French defend their law which is designed to strictly adhere to their ideas of separation of church and state, but French liberalism is coming dangerously close to ending religious freedom.  Even worse it seems to be spreading to other parts of Europe.  Italy, Turkey, three Belgian towns and seven of Germany’s 16 states have banned headscarves.  While speaking in Cairo President Obama said it clearly, “it is important for Western countries to avoid impeding Muslim citizens from practicing religion as they see fit – for instance, by dictating what clothes a Muslim woman should wear. We cannot disguise hostility towards any religion behind the pretence of liberalism.” Members of the French Parliament, from both the left and right called the burkha an “oppressive dress that breaches individual freedoms”.

Individual freedoms?  According to whom?  There are many in the world who would consider Western women oppressed because they feel compelled to don a style of dress that is made to entice and attract men.  Indeed, upon hearing the new French policy the spokesman for the Muslim Council of Great Britain said, “Unfortunately, there is a pressure on women to dress skimpily in the West.”  I agree.

Perhaps the burkha could provide greater freedom than a skimpy bikini ever could.  It can be said that the burkha is a tyrannical and repressive piece of clothing forced on the women who wear it, but the same could be said of a bikini. Both the burkha and the bikini are worn to indulge the whims of men in the society they represent.  The burkha is worn to mask and conceal that which belongs or could belong to the men, and the bikini is worn to expose and display the same.  Both articles of clothing find their impetus in their effort to control and subjugate women.

Women long to adopt a carefree and liberating expression in their choice of clothing.  There are few women that can wear a bikini and feel comfortable in it.  Even supermodels lament because they feel their thighs or behinds are more ample than they should be.  Donning a large black covering in the morning could provide a liberation few Western women have experienced.  To arrive at work, school, or social occasion without first applying makeup, dressing the hair, and fussing over clothing would be a dream come true!

One need only to read the comments and remarks made about Hilary Clinton’s appearance to long for this type of freedom.  During her run for the democratic presidential nomination, what Mrs. Clinton said was never as important, as how she was dressed when she said it.  The criticism made about Mrs. Clinton’s hair, makeup, body type, and clothing took precedence over what she was saying.  Her legs were compared to tree trunks, her clothes called frumpy, and her hair and makeup was the topic of many water cooler gatherings.  In the same vein, such discussions did not take place about Benazir Bhutto or Indira Gandhi when they were Prime Ministers of their countries.  The political pundits debated their political agendas and viewpoints, not their choice of clothing or makeup.  Perhaps this was because the males in their countries were conditioned to view respectable women in a non-sexual way, and therefore these women were taken more seriously than Hilary Clinton.

Men will be unable to view women as equal—as long as women continue to exercise their right to seduce men, and therefore objectify themselves.  If women will dress in a manner that does not engage a man’s libido and instead engages his mind, they will be able to experience true freedom and liberation.  Both women and men should be disturbed by this fact: the American voting public is unable to elect a woman even as a vice-president.  While India, in 1966 and Pakistan, in 1988—countries thought by the West to have little equality for women, had already elected women as Prime Ministers!

Tear Down This Wall

As we remember the falling of the Berlin Wall, let us remember also what two former Presidents said.

“Today, the proudest boast is Ich bin ein Berliner (I am a Berliner).” JFK announced his (and our) solidarity with Berliners.

“There are many people in the world who really don’t understand, or say they don’t, what is the great issue between the free world and the communist world. LET THEM COME TO BERLIN!” JFK clearly said those with communist values do not have values of freedom for the people.

We all know the “Tear down this wall!” demand. It will live for 100 years.

But here’s a couple other things Reagan said: “As long as this gate is closed, as long as this scar of a wall is permitted to stand, it is not the German question alone that remains open, but the question of freedom for all mankind.” Very clearly, as the stark wall in Berlin showed, the difference between communism and freedom is visible to all who wish to see. One only needs to look at the sharp difference in affluence from one side of the wall to the other.

“[J]ust as truth can flourish only when the journalist is given freedom of speech, so prosperity can come about only when the farmer and businessman enjoy economic freedom.” Reagan railed at the comunist clamp on freedom of the press just as he railed against the oppression of farmers and businessmen in the communist regimes.

Today, we have a President who rails against the press that is giving him a black eye. Today, we have a congress that is doing its best to fetter farmers and businessmen with undue restraints. Today, we have executive-branch officials who espouse Mao (the communist murderer of 60 million of his own people). Today, we have a government that wants to take over one sixth of the free market after it already took over two of the big three automakers, much of the banking industry, etc, ad nauseum. Today, we have a President who air-mailed his “It’s all about me; electing a black man to President” speech to Germany for a celebration of the falling of the wall.

And for all you nut-jobs who even come close to trying to equate the Berlin Wall with our desires for a wall/fence on our southern border, do learn some history. The Berlin Wall was designed to keep East Berliners out of (completely surrounded) West Berlin. And it was built by Communist Germany and Communist USSR (who owned East Berlin). The wall was built by communists to keep their own people from escaping communism.

La Cámara Baja de EEUU aprueba la reforma sanitaria

La Cámara de Representantes de Estados Unidos aprobó hoy por primera vez en la historia del país un proyecto de ley que pretende establecer un sistema de salud casi universal. Pese a la amplia mayoría de los demócratas en esa Cámara, el resultado fue muy ajustado, ya que el proyecto recibió 220 votos a favor, tan sólo dos más que los necesarios.
Votaron en contra 176 republicanos -sólo uno lo apoyó-, así como 39 demócratas de orientación moderada, la mayoría de distritos conservadores del sur del país. “El proyecto está aprobado”, dijo con una gran sonrisa la presidenta de la Cámara Baja, Nancy Pelosi, tras anunciar el resultado, entre los aplausos y los gritos de júbilo de los demócratas.
Para Barack Obama, el resultado es una victoria muy importante, pues se ha marcado como una de la prioridades de su presidencia la aprobación de la reforma del sistema de salud con la que soñaron sus predecesores demócratas en el cargo, pero nunca lograron.
La votación tuvo lugar a las 23.00 de la noche, hora local, (05:00 GMT del domingo) tras unas 14 horas de una sesión extraordinaria celebrada el sábado. La pelota pasa ahora al Senado, que tendrá que aprobar su propia versión de la reforma. Posteriormente, ambos textos deberán ser armonizados y las dos cámaras tendrán que pronunciarse sobre ese documento final.
La propuesta, de casi 2.000 páginas, prevé extender la cobertura a 36 millones de estadounidenses sin seguro de salud, de los más de 46 millones que carecían de él en 2008, según los últimos datos de la Oficina del Censo. Eso significa que si el proyecto llega a convertirse en ley el 96 por ciento de los estadounidenses tendrán cuidado médico asegurado, una cifra no alcanzada nunca.
Los ciudadanos estarían obligados a pagar las mensualidades a aseguradoras privadas o a un plan público, con la ayuda de subsidios, so pena de multas. El plan prohíbe además a las aseguradoras privadas negarse a extender una nueva póliza a personas que sufren alguna enfermedad, algo que hacen actualmente y que es un desastre para muchos estadounidenses que contraen una dolencia grave cuando están sin seguro.
El sistema conlleva un coste de 1,1 billones de dólares durante 10 años, pero los demócratas mantienen que ese gasto serán totalmente compensado con una subida de impuestos a los ricos, la reducción de algunas exenciones fiscales para grandes empresas y una tasa sobre los aparatos médicos.
Obama acudió hoy al Capitolio para reunirse con los demócratas, a los que recordó que “una oportunidad como ésta sólo llega quizá una vez en una generación”, según declaró posteriormente. Es un sentimiento del que se hizo eco Pelosi, quien durante el debate afirmó que con el voto de hoy “haremos historia”.
Por su parte, los republicanos reiteraron su oposición al proyecto por su coste y porque supone una ampliación del alcance de la mano pública en la economía. El legislador Charles Boustany sacó a colación que es cardiólogo para decir con autoridad que el proyecto “supone la toma de control, equivocada e irresponsable, del cuidado médico por parte del gobierno”.
Dave Richert, otro de sus colegas, afirmó que “el aspecto más preocupante de este proyecto es que quita la libertad”, y John Boehner, el líder de los republicanos, recalcó que obligar a los ciudadanos a pagar por un seguro de salud, so pena de multa, es “inconstitucional”. Ahora la batalla entre demócratas y republicanos se traslada al Senado.

Black Power - I Missed You So

If there is any group out there that should be just as angry as us Latinos/ Arabic/ sane Westerners / the entire eco system…er…. pretty much everyone except everyone that works at FOX news, rich folk and crazy Christians – it should be black americans. The plight of these people was used as a tool to insert yet another tool into the system – and one that is turning out to be just as violent as Bush.

“Decrying Barack Obama as “white power in black face”, hundreds of African Americans marched on the White House on Saturday to protest policies of the first black US president, and demand that he bring US troops home.

More than 200 people gathered for the first public demonstration by African Americans against the Obama administration since his historic inauguration in January, and slammed the president for continuing what they described as Washington’s “imperialist” agenda around the world.

“We recognise that Barack Hussein Obama is white power in black face,” civil rights activist Omali Yeshitela, chairman of the Black is Back coalition which arranged the protest, called into a megaphone as the group marched outside the mansion’s gates.

“He is a tool of our imperialist enemies and we demand our freedom. And we demand that Obama withdraw all the troops from Afghanistan right now.”

Protesters also called for Obama to order troops out of Iraq and to scrap Africom, the controversial year-old United States Africa Command, and demanded “hands off” Venezuela and ends to the Cuba embargo and the Zimbabwe blockade.” “

For those whose memory of the Black Panthers still represents the face of true black power against it’s controllers – this is good to see. Although, next time – let’s shoot for at least 200,000 black faces against Obama. The rest can keep obsessing over bling, doing up cars, selling out and pushing Jesus while making cheesy commercial rap music.

Sheeps of the GFC and Peter Garrett grilled

First I could not believe it!

How anyone can be so stupid of thinking Barack Obama is going to be the saviour of the GFC?

I do not want to go on about how the government intervention never stops recessions but only delay recessions.

Well, the stimulus packages allows businesses to keep on running unprofitable, add in more debt, barely any saving being achieved, continues to redistribute wealth around the country, devours capital and limited resources, they can’t adjusted themselves to any ecomonic climates and once the stimulus runs out then a must bigger recession is on its way out.

Many of those voted on the facebook poll will be dead wrong, not even Kevin Rudd can prevent it even Barack Obama would still say “Yes, We can!”

I won’t be wrong about voting ”who cares, doesn’t affect’ because nothing prevents the GFC!

Federal Arts Minister Peter Garrett will be on the meet the press show on Sunday morning. I’ve already sent my question to the show, by hoping they will read my question out to him on my behalf. The question is:

Time/Joe Klein—It was Halloween night in Jerusalem, and Benjamin Netanyahu came dressed as a peacemaker. “We’re prepared to start peace talks immediately,” the notoriously reluctant Israeli Prime Minister proclaimed, with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton standing at his side, poker-faced. “I think we should … get on it and get with it.”
It was a ploy, of course. The Palestinians were tangled up in themselves, yet again. They had elections looming, and their leader, Mahmoud Abbas, had to hang tough: he was demanding a total freeze to Israeli settlement-building on the West Bank — which was precisely what the Obama Administration had previously said it favored. Netanyahu was offering a partial freeze, not including new settlements in East Jerusalem, the desired capital of a future Palestinian state. This was a nonstarter for the Palestinians, but it had the holographic glow of a step forward. It was an “unprecedented” offer, Netanyahu trumpeted, with the joy of a chess master springing a trap.
It was a tough moment for Clinton, playing second fiddle at the Bibi-does-Gandhi show. President Barack Obama had softened his language on the settlements a few weeks earlier: instead of a total freeze, he had talked about Israeli “restraint” in settlement-building. And now Clinton seemed to cement the Administration’s retreat, agreeing that Netanyahu’s proposal was, indeed, “unprecedented,” even though the U.S. still favored a total freeze. The most important thing, she added, was for the parties to get to the table as quickly as possible. The onus was back on the Palestinians — and the Palestinians quickly expressed outrage at the Obama Administration’s retreat. Their Arab neighbors soon joined in, causing Clinton to backtrack two days later, telling reporters the Israeli plan “falls far short” of U.S. expectations, although she still insisted on calling it “unprecedented,” which was neither diplomatic nor wise.

Be The Difference You Want To See In The World

My story began in 2008, during the same period that President-Elect, Barack Obama, was preparing for his historic transition to become the first African-American President of The United States of America. His dramatic rise to the Presidency fostered a sense of excitement in the country and it centered around one powerful word: Change. Little did I know at the time that the word “change” would be a central theme for me, my family and my home town of Monroe, Louisiana. The type of change Obama campaigned on was change that focused on raising awareness and reducing the long standing abuse of power that has pervaded our land for so many years. Change that also includes protecting individuals federally, while invoking and respecting the powers of our United States Constitution  and the Bill of Rights. You’d think all the laws would apply to all states in our country. However, the wrongfully termination of my mentoring program for at-risk and troubled youths, the verbal threats I received for entering my name as a candidate for public office, the destruction of my campaign signs, and the worst of all the arson of my home are the examples and exceptions to the very abuse of power I speak of. In a flash, I found myself standing alone in a quest to bring about this very change in my own life and in the community where I lived. 

In January of 2008 in Monroe, Louisiana a youth mentoring program was terminated; effecting over 108 at-risk youths and their families.  This unique and extremely effective mentoring program was helping poor and disadvantaged youths succeed in school and society; its abrupt bureaucratic cancellation has devastated the community. After 6 years of hard work and dedication creating a successful mentoring program that aided at-risk youths in challenging areas to succeed, it was ripped away from them by a group I call The Terminators of Hope. Thanks to this program, dozens and dozens of young people were making a change in their daily lives, furthering their education and contributing positively to the community. It is beyond me, why such a successful program would be cancelled.

This mentoring program provided youths with the tools for success; demonstrating higher academics, lowering the dropout rates and a greater ability to work together as a community.  
Within three months of the termination of this program, many of the youths have become hopeless, while many others have begun to skip school, violate curfews, turn to violence and even commit crimes.

These youths are desperately seeking a better way of life but without proper guidance and support through an effective mentoring program, they are vulnerable to an environment that perpetuates violence, crime and lack of education.  
While this mentoring program matched youths with volunteers from the community for a one on one relationship, bimonthly workshops were given on various subjects such as; education, personal hygiene, anti-violence, anger management, employment preparation, cultural enrichment, social etiquette and community beautification.  This program provided hope to those who would other- wise not have any.

1990 Plus 800 Equals Tyranny. The New American Revolution.

“These are the times that try men’s souls”. Thomas Paine wrote that during the year 1776, while our fledgling  nation was in the throes of armed revolution against the greatest military machine in the world. If Vegas had been around back then, the odds would have been astronomically against that we would survive being crushed inside a year. It was a minor miracle that we had survived the “battles” of Lexington and Concord on April 19th 1775. We had no standing army or navy. Our militias were ragtag groups of farmers and shopkeepers.
There is another document authored by Thomas Jefferson and published on July 4, 1776. It begins, “When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected to them to another”. The ‘healthcare monstrosity’ of 1990 pages will have another 800 pages of “managerial” amendments added to it in the dark of night by Pelosi’s GOON squad. They will attempt a vote on this indescribable horror.
I’m not saying that armed insurrection is our answer, but something certainly has to be done. We don’t need to wait for Friday’s vote for tyranny…we have it right now in the House of Representatives. We have  one party rule enforced by pint-sized Nancy Pelosi, to include having locks changed on chamber doors to keep Republicans from introducing amendments or raising objections to the absolutely illegal and unconstitutional multi-trillion dollar robbery of our freedoms, our independence and our God given heritage.
The Obama administration is out to destroy our way of life. Rush Limbaugh said as much in his interview with Chris Wallace broadcast on Sunday AND HE WAS RIGHT!
Bill O’Reilly said he thought Rush was wrong that Obama wouldn’t do that for fear that he wouldn’t be re-elected. I’ve got news for you Bill…Rush is right…you are wrong. Obama is an ideologue. Pelosi, Reid and company are only slightly less so…their idea of transformative is along the lines of Pol Pot or Joseph Stalin and let us not forget that great Obama administration icon Mao Tse Tung.
They couldn’t care less what the American people think or say…they are going to thug this thing through unless we STOP them… AND WE CAN. Representative Michele Bachmann (R) Minn. has called for citizens from all over America who can reach Washington by Thursday to gather at the capitol steps to rally and then proceed into the congressional office buildings to beard the cowards in their dens. Not with pitchforks  and tar (YET), but with video and cell phone cameras. Any bets the cretins will clear out Wednesday night or hide behind staff and be unavailable?
I know of two people from Nancy’s own district who are winging their way east as we speak… Mark Levin has also promised to be there to lend his support. Calls and emails will also undoubtedly inundate the offices of Congress and the Senate and bring down the White House and Capitol switchboards.
Given what is happening in Virginia, New York and New Jersey they’d better start listening.
They’d also better be damned grateful that we have more respect for the rule of law than they do.
For with us, as Conservatives, Independents and many Democrats who are not represented by this bunch, the law is something WE stand by. For those TYRANTS it’s something they hide behind.

Obama calls Karzai "legitimate" leader....Right.

Folks, quite the drama has been developing over in Afghanistan today:

First off, Abdullah Abdullah, the challenger that was running for the Afghan presidency against incumbent President Hamid Karzai, had decided to drop out of the election runoffs that were scheduled to be held this week, saying that the runoffs would be pointless since the Karzai-led government might commit fraud in his favor.

In response to this news, the Afghan government has called off the runoff elections and have moved to hand Mr. Karzai on a silver platter another term as Afghan president, another term of an apparently illegitimate man and his corrupt cronies (including his drug-tied, U.S. taxpayer bankrolled brother) running the show in the broken country.

And now, later on in the day, we have President Obama and the White House declaring that Mr. Karzai is the “legitimate” leader, saying that the rule of law prevailed in determining the outcome in this ever so divisive election.  Mr. Obama even went as far as phoning Mr. Karzai and giving him a dose of eloquent diction, calling him about starting a “new chapter” in Afghanistan.  Still with the fancy, but broad and empty language Mr. Obama?

The main point that I would like to make about this:  Isn’t it a little disingenuous of Mr. Obama to give any semblance of legitimacy to Karzai.  I mean, really, doesn’t Mr. Obama see how this will all look in the eyes of the Afghan people, America giving legitimacy to a corrupt government?  Doesn’t he see how this might undermine stability in the region (probably even more that the declaration of Mr. Karzai as president) when the people over there see America being complicit with this corrupt regime?

Obama Lifts HIV Travel Ban

In a widely hailed move, President Obama announced an end to the two-decades-old ban on travel and immigration to the U.S. by HIV-positive individuals Friday.

Obama said the ban was rooted in “fear rather than fact,” and disease experts agreed, saying the prohibition had no basis in public health or science and only served to deepen the stigma and discrimination suffered by HIV-positive individuals.

“Good riddance to this discriminatory rule that had no basis in public health or sound science,” said HIVMA Outgoing Chair Arlene Bardeguez, MD, MPH, in a news release issued by HIVMA and the Center for Global Health Policy. “This long-overdue move brings the U.S. in line with current scientific and international standards of public health and will lessen the painful stigma and discrimination suffered by HIV-positive people.”

The travel ban served to undermine public health by discouraging people from determining or disclosing their HIV status. It also highlighted a troubling paradox in US policy. Even as Washington took a leading role in combating the AIDS epidemic globally, the US kept in place a policy that prevented international HIV/AIDS activists and researchers from coming to here. Indeed, no major international AIDS conference has been held in the US in nearly two decades because of the ban.

“If we want to be the global leader in combating H.I.V./AIDS, we need to act like it,” Mr. Obama said at the White House on Friday, during a signing ceremony for the Ryan White H.I.V./AIDS Treatment Extension Act.

Overturning the ban puts HIV-positive people on a level playing field with any other foreigner wanting to visit or immigrate to the U.S.

“This move brings common sense to US policy and means that people from developing countries who  receive US funded-HIV treatment will finally be welcome here,” said Kenneth Mayer, Co-Chair of the Global Center’s Scientific Advisory Committee and professor at Brown University, where he directs the AIDS Program.
