Mr. President; We Listened, Now We Hear

President Barack Obama is an accomplished orator. That fact and that fact alone explains why he has ascended to his current position with such a modest resume of accomplishment thus far in his career. Since the inspiring speech he gave at the 2004 Democrat party convention the ears of most of America have been listening enraptured by his words of Hope and Change but not hearing what his message means for their lives. He was elected by an electorate listening but not hearing.

Because his plan for further government control (the problems with healthcare today are mostly the cause of current government control and regulation) of the healthcare industry is drowning in a sea of understanding he played the only ace he has left in his deck, his skills as an orator. Like the pundits I will agree that he, with the aid of his trusty teleprompter, delivered another fine oration. We listened, but unlike the other 100 plus times he has delivered a speech on healthcare we now hear with a clear understanding what the implications of his words mean. Is there not one person in the administration who understands that each time he delivers a speech on healthcare his approval numbers take another move downward. The citizens are hearing the message and they don’t like it.

Too many people have now read and understand what the 1000 plus page healthcare bill really means to them individually and the economic health of the country as a whole. The Presidents words are now falling on the deaf ears of those inspired, by understanding, to shout their dissent for all to hear. Those dissenting may not have the oratorical skills of the President, but make no mistake their message is being heard.
